Janae + Dana | Real Wedding

Friends! We are back to blogging [Take a look below for some more recent posts and don’t worry… we’ve got more where these came from]. Can’t believe how long it has been since we posted a real wedding. We have a #weddingwednesday and a #throwbackthursday mixed all in one for you to start. We’ve had a few opportunities to catch up with this bride lately, so these two are fresh on our mind. Such lovely souls.

These two had a long winding story that didn’t connect until many years later when Dana’s mom played matchmaker. After a whirlwind cross-country romance and an intimate proposal on the Tacoma waterfront, there two found us and we all dove into wedding planning.

The guides for all of our decisions – a customized ceremony, romantic feel, and highlighting traditions. Lucky for us, both families were highly involved and every loved one felt like they had helped create a momentous day to start off Janae + Dana’s new life together.

The ceremony was one I won’t ever forget at Kilworth Chapel on the University of Puget Sound Chapel. Flora Nova Design out-did themselves with the custom draping, crystal adorned chandeliers, and white flowers everywhere. Janae and Dana incorporated a candle lighting ceremony that was so moving, I don’t think I can put it into words. Their mothers lit their separate unity candles. Their fathers then passed the flames from these candles to all the guests. Upon lighting their unity candle, those same flames we also being held by all the guests to symbolize all their loved ones being a part of their marriage. Such a memorable moment.

Cedarbrook Lodge was transformed to create the elegant, traditional reception we were looking for. With a show stopping cake from The Cakewalk Shop and breathtaking florals from Flora Nova Design, guests knew that this was going to be an affair to remember as soon as they walked into the room.

Our favorite part of the night were the hand rolled cigars from San Juan Cigars. A special request from the groom, that we were all too excited to fulfill.

Gin & Champagne Cocktails

Our monthly cocktail.. this month is 2.  Thank you BevMo for the inspiration!

Gin and tonics have hogged the spotlight for long enough. It’s time for gin mixed with bubbly to share the spotlight.

To stock your bar for spring cocktails, pick up a few cases of single-serve sparkling wine. Next, find two or three bottles of gin like St. George or Death’s Door, then grab a few liqueurs. I’ve been enjoying green chartreuse, maraschino, PAMA, and Drambuie with the gin and bubbly. Find the right mix to suit your taste and never be stumped on a gin or champagne cocktail again.

Tasty Brunch Cocktail from BevMo! Thirty Times

Nothing is better than a weekend morning with no set wake up time, no agenda, and no reason not to enjoy a delicious brunch cocktail with your breakfast. This drink has the perfect amount of sweetness with a hint of almond, and tastes especially good with omelet dishes and egg casseroles. And if you have the time to make some freshly squeezed orange juice, you may just find a reason to make a Tasty Brunch cocktail a permanent part of your morning menu.

Tasty Brunch Cocktail
3 ounces orange juice
¾ ounce Maraska Kruskovac pear brandy
½ ounce Disaronna almond liqueur
Orange slice garnish

Directions
Fill a lowball or rocks glass with ice. Add the orange juice, Disaronna, and Maraska Kruskovac. Stir well, and serve.

Weddings in Woodinville Recap

I can’t believe it has been over a month and I am just getting around to getting writing this.   The sixth annual Weddings in Woodinville was on January 25th, was another lovely sunny day, and once again Taylor’d Events Group was at Novelty Hill-Januik Winery!   Our theme was Warmth, combing the copper with marsala for upstairs and for downstairs we brought back the 12th Man Lounge!  I had a great group of vendors (listed below).  Alex and I enjoyed meeting everyone that stopped by our table. I am already starting to plan my theme for next year!  Please mark January 31st for next year!  ~ Jen

“Jen was sensational! No detail was left unattended, yet I wasn't overwhelmed with decisions or planning. Whenever friends/family asked with that expectant tone, "so, how's the planning coming" I was continually amazed at the ease with which I could answer "it's great!" Taylor'd Events heard me when I described what I wanted, found vendors that fit my needs, and then orchestrated everything. I am so grateful for their professionalism and the amazing day that was a product of their unending hard work. Eternally grateful.”
