So, you’ve decided you want to get away and have a destination wedding? Whether it is just the two of you or a larger group of family and friends, you still have some planning to do. In this 3-part series on planning for a destination wedding we are going to break up planning, travel and wedding day.
So, in the final section, Wedding Week! Here is a list of suggestions that will make the week of your wedding more carefree and enjoyable for you and your fiance:
Once you arrive at your destination, talk to your venue’s front desk to find out if there is a reputable place to get your wedding attire pressed and/or steamed. If you have time, you should do some research on this before arriving to your destination. Find out where the closest place is and how much they will be charging you.
Arrange a time to pickup your marriage certificate from an agent or city hall
Set up a good time to meet with your venue coordinator. Once you arrive, do a final review of your banquet order and make sure everything is ready. If you do not have a wedding planner with you, bring someone along who is NOT in your wedding party to be your go-to person for all venue information on your wedding day.
Once you have those things finalized and sorted out, take some time to relax and enjoy your time before your big day. Make sure you do a final tour of the destination and set aside time to hang out with friends and family that came along for your special day.
Finally, delegate, delegate, delegate! Allow other people to help you on the day of your wedding! Do not try to do everything yourself, you do not want to be walking down the aisle thinking about anything but getting married to the love of your life!
I hope you have found this information helpful and insightful to planning your destination wedding! Remember, relax and soak it all in!
