M+C Real Wedding @ The Piranha Shop

When M + C reached out to me to plan their wedding, they weren’t even sure they wanted to have a wedding. How much could we turn the wedding celebration their families was hoping for into something unique, non-traditional, and exciting? I like to think we did a pretty good job!

M+C met in the peace corps and continue to live abroad in South Korea with their adorable pup (who made the long journey around the world to walk M down the aisle). We did ALL of the planning via Skype and I only got to meet when she arrived in Seattle the week before the wedding. There were a few important things:: FOOD, dancing, and fun! All of their guests flew in for the weekend, so we needed to make it worth the trip.

A couple of traditional elements did make their way into the day — M wore a white dress from BHLDN, wore a suit (although, I was rooting for the tuxedo t-shirt) and they had a very small intimate ceremony early the same morning.

After the early morning ceremony and all of the girls went over to Swink Style bar to get ready for the celebration. Joining back up with and their closest friends afterwards to drink some bubbles, put back on their party clothes and head over to the party. There were no formal dances, cake cutting, or formal dinner. Instead we created a food truck pod (yup… you read that right) with all of M+C’s favorite Seattle trucks. I am not sure if any guest ate all of the options, if so… I am HIGHLY impressed.

Remember how dancing was one of the two important parts? Well, we didn’t disappoint with Sol Bird and the DJ rocking the dance floor until the early hours of the morning.

I still can’t believe I had the opportunity to plan this celebration. There were more personal details than I could ever explain! Why all of the art supplies you might wonder? C is an artist in South Korea!

To close out the weekend all of the guests took a cruse through Seattle waterways!

“Jen was sensational! No detail was left unattended, yet I wasn't overwhelmed with decisions or planning. Whenever friends/family asked with that expectant tone, "so, how's the planning coming" I was continually amazed at the ease with which I could answer "it's great!" Taylor'd Events heard me when I described what I wanted, found vendors that fit my needs, and then orchestrated everything. I am so grateful for their professionalism and the amazing day that was a product of their unending hard work. Eternally grateful.”
